Achilles Mastic of Chios supplies straight from Chios, Greece, and onto consumer. Other brands of mastiha may source from Turkey or even Cyprus, and package elsewhere for individual sale. We are shipped mastic resin from our supplier, and we package every order, on demand, on American soil.

Shipments that come from overseas may be melded together and difficult for the customer to distinguish. We package our gum in individual sealed paper pouches of 20 tears. The process of extracting the mastic sap is hard work on behalf of the farmers and is uneasy. No pesticides, GMOs or insecticides are used, either. Farmers risk killing the tree if they over-harvest, which has led to a large shortage of available exports allowed by the Greek government.
